What’s new in Windows 11:
– Windows 11 gets a completely new design. It’s clear that Microsoft needs a good reason to take back its previous claims and still abandon Windows 10 by introducing a new operating system number. And the brand new design is perfect for that. The giant from Redmond has been preparing an update for a long time with the code name Sun Valley (“Sun Valley”;) – apparently, this was the name Windows 11 was given. The Sun Valley project has been flickering on the Internet for a long time, with Microsoft regularly releasing details of the new interface style, insiders sharing previously unknown information, and well-known designers in their circle drawing realistic concepts based on all this data.
– Startup and system items will float above the bottom bar. Start is the calling card and face of every newer version of Windows. Not surprisingly, the developers of Windows 11 will redesign it again, but not so much in a functional sense as in a visual sense – the Start window will float above the bottom bar. We have to admit that this small change makes the system look much fresher. According to information from the network, Microsoft will not radically change the “inside” of this menu – the innovations will affect only the design of the window itself. The Action Center is combined with control buttons, a similar feature that has long been used in some other operating systems. Almost all mentions of this new menu suggest that it will be an island, with controls on a separate panel, notifications on another, and certain elements (like the player) on yet another.
– Rectangles will disappear, replaced by curves. In fact, insiders and concept creators are divided on this matter, with some convinced that Microsoft will not change its tradition and keep right angles, while others believe that Microsoft will follow the fashion of curves in 2021. The latter fits better with the definition of “all-new Windows”—sliding menus alone aren’t enough to qualify a new design as truly new. Rounding is expected to affect almost everything in the system, from context menus and system panels to all application windows. However, concept developers have different opinions on this matter – some draw curves in every possible UI element, others combine them with right angles.
– Transparent background with blur will be visible everywhere. The style of the windows screen island, the design of the corners and the floating effect of the menus are divided on the Internet, but the transparency of the windows is almost divided. The vast majority of leaks and design renderings show transparency and blur in all windows, whether it’s at least the Start menu or the browser. Moreover, these effects are even included in the assembly of the canceled Windows 10X operating system, which Microsoft developed in parallel with the Sun Valley project for devices with two screens and weak apps.
