It sounds even better thanks to the strong performances and stylish filmmaking, which elevate it to something more memorable. The supervillain’s origin story is a very fitting description for a film whose main goal is to show how the monster was created and lost all the humanity that existed in the first place. Sebastian Stan gives a stunning performance not long after his phenomenal appearance in A Different Man, proving that he is the best actor currently working in the MCU and beyond.

Jeremy Strong was born to play roles in which he could easily convey a commanding, unwavering presence and this isn’t the first time he’s done so either. Ali Abbasi’s direction makes it seem as if Stan is taking the final step in his Trump transition, which must be horrifying in many ways, and uses Kasper Tuxen’s intense documentary-style cinematography to bring a lot of energy to the proceedings. The soundtrack has enough lively songs to keep the energy up, and the score by Brian Irvine, Martin Dirkov, and David Holmes doesn’t sound like what you might expect, which works in its favor.
