The first episode was better than the preview
It’s a quiet and lonely show, since (almost!) everyone except the main character died from a pandemic, but it uses that quiet to ask worthy existential questions about loneliness, whether one should strive to live when all one’s loved ones are dead, about hope, and how to move on. There is a famous book with this title/theme and we will see how this series complements and runs parallel to that novel.
The first episode is good enough to warrant watching more of
It has a sense of desolation and despair like The Walking Dead, but without zombies, and instead it’s about the personal struggle of living in a completely changed world. One Hundred Years of Solitude is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
