This one is pretty middle of the road
Story
After finding their jovial taxi driver, the couple leads them on a remote, haunted road, revealing his disturbing motives and true intentions. British indie horror can be a bit hit and miss at times.
Nick Frost does a great job in his role
It’s equal parts disturbing, creepy, creepy, and even cute. He steals the show for me, although Synnove Karlsen has a decent turn.
The movie plays out classic highway ghost haunting stories and has some creepy moments
It’s an interesting take on how vulnerable we really are in a cab driven by someone we know nothing about, but that’s not really the point of the story, although the depth of Frost’s performance got me thinking. in the dark and going through one night, with a good part of London in a cab, the light is useful.
Although overall I thought it was a pretty average fare
A few scares and some creepy exposition, nicely delivered by Frost, give the film enough atmosphere to keep you interested. My favorite part was the ending, which is a bit ambiguous and probably open to some interpretation.
