The film’s subtitle “Folie a Deux” means “Madness of Two” in French
Story
Struggling with his dual identity, failed comedian Arthur Fleck meets the love of his life, Harley Quinn, while incarcerated at Arkham State Hospital. Lady Gaga, Brendan Gleeson, and writer-director Todd Phillips discuss what scared them most about making a musical sequel. Plus, Gaga talks about how she got into and stayed in her dark character. This initially led to speculation about Harley Quinn’s appearance in the film, which was later confirmed.
It is also known as Lasègue-Falret syndrome
The name Folie a Deux comes from 19th-century French psychiatrists Charles Lasègue and Jules Falret. The term was coined to refer to two or more people who share the same madness or delusion. The jury foreman talks about “People of New York” instead of Gotham City. That’s because New York State is the prosecutor in the criminal case, and this version of Gotham City is apparently located in New York State (most versions place Gotham in New Jersey).

However, the story is full of holes
Joker: Folie à Deux, a disappointing sequel, Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga give good performances bringing to life two tortured and complex characters. While the first film won us over with its psychological depth and strong social commentary, this second chapter seems to be struggling to find its own identity. The plot, which is sometimes fragmented and predictable, doesn’t hold up to its predecessor. The characters, although interesting, take a back seat to the plot, which gets lost in useless digressions.

In conclusion, Joker: Folie à Deux is a film that leaves a bitter taste in the mouth, and is often boring. Despite its technical advantages and excellent performances, the story is weak. A sequel that disappointed expectations, with a poor plot and much less emotional impact than the first film. film festivals, including Venice, TIFF, New York Film Festival and others.
