Riot was so impressed with the work that they asked Fortiche to create an animated series, which took several years to create. After the release of the first season, Riot announced that there would be a second season and that it would take less time to produce. Presented in AniMat’s Crazy Cartoon: Geeked Week for Freaks (2021). Enemy is written by Dan Reynolds, Wayne Sermon, Ben McKee, Daniel Platzman, Robin Fredriksson, Mattias Larsson, Justin Tranter, J.I.D.

Performed by Imagine Dragons ft. Arcane follows two young orphaned sisters who grow up and get into trouble in the dual cities of Zaun and Piltover. The series is based on the video game League of Legends, and while it drops you right into this fictional world, it takes time and attention to create the locations and characters in a commendable fashion of show and tell. The solid character development and world building mean that this is a thoroughly enjoyable watch without knowing anything about the game.
The animation is absolutely superb
As an anime fan, I found the animation in Arcane to be smoother than anything I’ve ever seen from an animated series. There’s an incredible attention to detail. It’s clear that no artistic talent or monetary expense was spared in bringing the world of Runeterra to life. A great soundtrack, great acting, and a compelling story that pulls no punches when it comes to violence and more adult themes.
So far, only the first three episodes have been released, and I can’t wait to see what else they have in store for us!
